News03/17/06 BWChart 1.03G : detecting hacksI just submitted a new version of BWChart that can detect two mineral hacks: one Protoss mineral hack and one Terran mineral hack. Indeed, I checked the 3 replays with BWChart and found out some very clear signatures of the hack, right there in the action list. For the protoss mineral hack, there is a 0x33 unidentified command, with a bunch of bytes behind. For the Terran mineral hack, there is a very fast repetition of Train/Cancel of a ComSat. If you remove those actions, the hacks dont happen any more when you watch the replay. So I added the detection of those 2 action patterns in BWChart 1.03G. You can see Hack events in clear red inside the event list. You can navigate from one to the other using the Next button, just like for suspicious events. Also, if you display hot points on the resource chart, there will be small red triangles where the hack occurred. One last thing, the replay browser also displays the hack count for each replay, but you need to rebuild your replay database (see Clear replays.txt in the options screen). That way you can see in a glance if some of you older replays have these hacks. -If you have replays with new variations of those hacks, please let me know.
